The season has limped to an end. Last weekend's match was cancelled due to excessive rain and cold. This week, we were unable to confirm a tentative match with Mizzou, and decided to play an intersquad scrimmage. As it turns out, more rain has left the field a quagmire and the team has elected not to play, April 13, 2008 - Ramblers match cancelled due to weather. Another weekend was lost due to weather. With the field saturated and temperatures in the mid-30's, the game against the Ramblers was cancelled. The game will be rescheduled for the fall. Index article by Arron Hustead - April 10, 2008 April 6 - Truman underperforms in loss to Benedictine. There is no way around it - Truman just did not perform. Truman lost to Benedictine 17-14 on a penalty kick on the last play of the game in Atchison, KS. Benedictine's swarming defensive pressure, combined with a very small field afforded little space. For no known reason, only 16 players made themselves available, forcing the guys to play the "B" game, as well - which they won 12-5. Index article by Arron Hustead - April 3, 2008 March 29-30 - Wayne State University Tournament. Truman traveled to Wayne, NE (a 7 hour drive) this past weekend with 24 players. We played four and a half games, and posted a 2-2, with a 0-0 tie in the half vs. Des Moines. The goals for the weekend were; 1) improve our play, 2) get everyone who traveled lots of playing time, and 3) to have fun. All 3 goals were met. The results of the matches are posted on Schedule & Scores. March 22, 2008 - Bombers use experience and size to take 43-7 win over Truman. The St. Louis Bombers "B" Team is the Missouri Union Division II Men's Club Championships. The Bombers used their experience and size to play a more efficient and faster pace game. Truman played well, but were exposed by defensive lapses and inability to maintain continuity in attack. Truman's lone try came early in the second half when Josh Harris finished from several nice phases of play; Holleman converted. This game was a good learning experience. The "Killer B's" were also in action, but lost a close contest to the Bomber's reserves 12-5, on a unconverted try by Ignatius Onyewadume. Index article by Ben Yarnell - March 20, 2008 March 9, 2008: Truman defeat Oklahoma State University 29-10 to finish the weekend 2-0. Truman again played solid defense and supported the ball-carriers well en route to a win over a big OSU team. Rookie wing Ignatius Onyewadume scored two more tries, with tries also coming from Justin Lacy, Mike Deckard and Will Holleman. Holleman was 2 of 5 conversions. March 8, 2008: Truman upset the University of Oklahoma 12-7. Truman played courageous defense to hold rival the Oklahoma out of the try zone. Scoring came on tries by captain Justin Lacy and rookie wing Ignatius Onyewadume, and a conversion from Will Holleman. March 2, 2008 - Truman put in good early season performance against University of Tulsa. Two days of warm weather and lots of melting snow and ice made for a muddy and slick pitch. However, Truman were able to put in a solid 9 try performance against Tulsa to come away with a 53-0 victory. Thanks to Tulsa for traveling to the 'Ville, and for playing additional time against our "Killer Bs". Index article by Corey Jaros - March 6, 2008 Pre-season Index article by Ben Yarnell - Feb 28, 2008 February 23-24, 2008 - The first weekend of spring season cancelled due to bad weather. Truman was supposed to play at Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville, MO last Saturday, and against the University of Northern Iowa at home on Sunday. Both matches were cancelled due to fields covered in snow and ice, and freezing temperatures. It can only get better, right? 2008 Club Officers Fall 2007 Awards Captain and Vice Captain for 2007-2008 Tribute to Truman
